Continuing Airworthiness Management

CAMO stands for Continuous Airworthiness Management Organization.

CAMO's main function is to plan, organize, implement and control the maintenance activities of aircraft, engines and components. It is an approved organization and responsible for the continuation of important tasks of high standard of airworthiness management.

The CAMO Personnel and Department
Aviation operators with a CAMO department generally have managerial aircraft maintenance functions and are performed by qualified personnel. Each sub-department within the CAMO department of each company is divided into functions to manage different positions. These positions include quality manager, maintenance manager, etc.

What does CAMO mean for aviation management?
All management of the maintenance organization within an aviation company (ie airlines) is under the department of CAMO. CAMO itself is an independent body that deals with the resources available to align them with compliance with the airworthiness guidelines.

The CAMO department is very important for any aircraft maintenance organization. Only maintenance organizations have engineers, tools and equipment.

But to align them for efficient operations, they need a CAMO department. CAMO aligns everything in order. Performs management for the maintenance organization to meet its goals, targets and objectives.

The CAMO department divides its tasks as follows:
Plan when and how to perform maintenance activities, followed by a decision.
Organize, share tasks and bring the workforce together.
The implementation phase is an important and critical task for CAMO. This is the stage where they will implement the practical executions and calculate the results
In the control phase, they maintain control and balance to ensure that everyone in their workforce performs well and that their tasks are performed.

All of these activities are carried out at the managerial level for graduates in aviation administration.

The CAMO function does not require aeronautical engineers. CAMO requires graduates in aviation management who can manage their activities. Aviation management graduates are well known for their management skills, as well as aviation skills, as these are their main disciplines and specialties.
